Teaching Homes for Christ

The Wheaton Academy is offering a Physical Education class, under Bill Bickhart (Dept. Head of Physical Education & coach) for the homeschooling community.

I believe there is such a big need for this group of students where they can enhance their fitness level, whether they are a beginner or already an athlete and involved in sports.  Fitness and health affects all areas of their lives, especially the intense level of their academic load in the high school years.

They are willing to set up once/twice a week.  Wednesday morning from 8 – 9:30 am or from 9 – 10:30 am, Thursday 1:30 – 3 pm

Each session is 1 1/2 hours long.

Fee:  $100 per student for a semester ( 18 weeks long)

Minimum of 10 students

They can begin this spring from March 5th to May 25th (11 weeks long) for $60 per student.

Many homeschooling familes are looking for creative ways to educate their students when they are in high school. Also, with finances as a constant concern, high school students are looking for ways to save money on college bills. Maranatha Online may be able to help service those needs, so I wanted to send you some information about our online classes.

We are offering many college classes to our students online, but we also offer them to high school students. Many high school students are taking classes before they graduate and Maranatha can provide the opportunity to take those classes online. They are college classes for college credit. Feel free to send this to anyone in your association.

A few reminders:

• Juniors and Seniors receive a 50% scholarship on all our college classes! (Seniors are eligible to receive the scholarship through the summer after they graduate from high school).

• Maranatha Baptist Bible College is a regionally accredited college, so all of our classes will transfer not only to Maranatha, but also to most other Colleges and Universities.

• You might be interested in looking into granting dual credit for our online classes

• Our classes run on an 8 week cycle and we have 6 starting dates throughout the year. Our next start date is March 8th.

Kids of Courage is a website from Voice of  the Martyrs that profiles children who have been faithful in places where Christians are persecuted!

The site is well designed and easy to use, including downloadable activity books and other resources to help your child be more aware of the plight of believers in other lands. (Downloads require free registration).

The materials are the perfect starting place to teach children about the need for courage and faithfulness as well as prayer.

Voice of the Martyrs also has excellent resources for adults to pray for the persecuted church at www.persecution.com

Moody Bible Institute would like to partner in your efforts to help your children establish a strong biblical worldview for high school and beyond!

They currently allow students who are equivalent to high school junior or senior standing the opportunity to enroll in Moody Bible Institute classes for a greatly reduced tuition rate through our Pre-College Series. This would allow your child the opportunity to accelerate their college education. Additionally, as all of Moody’s classes are exclusively bible-based, you could determine if these college classes are also eligible for fulfilling course requirements toward high school graduation.
