Teaching Homes for Christ

About Us

Teaching Homes for Christ (TH4C) is a homeschool parent support group based in DuPage and surrounding counties

Who we are:

We are a collection of Christian families that are homeschooling all or some of our children and want to share our love of Jesus Christ.

We are parents who need encouragement and support to press on with the sometimes daunting task of being a disciple, parent, and teacher to our children.

We seek to provide an opportunity for homeschool parents to talk and interact with other homeschool parents to share ideas, to encourage, and support one another.

Statement of Faith:

  • We believe the Bible in its original autograph to be the infallible
Word of God, the supreme and final authority for all faith and life.
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension and His return in power and glory.
  • We believe that man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and is therefore spiritually dead and at enmity with God.
  • We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man and requires belief in the Lord Jesus Christ and His substitutionary death on the cross paying the penalty for man’s sin.
  • We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict men, grant repentance and faith, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers through our common faith in Jesus Christ and that lesser doctrinal differences which may exist should not hinder the cooperation of Christian home educators.
  • We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as either male or female. These two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27). We believe that a person’s biological sex at birth is God’s intended sex for that person. Because of this belief, our community will not recognize any actions or intentions toward fundamental changes of any kind from one’s sex at birth, as these changes are contrary to the Biblical and theological understandings to which this community is committed.
  • We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as described in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25).

Code of Conduct:

  • All members of my family will refrain from swearing or using inappropriate language while at TH4C events. All members of my family attending TH4C events will use judgment in wearing modest clothing.

Conflict Resolution:

  • Align your attitude with God’s Word, His objectives, and His sovereignty. (Romans 12:18)

  • Self-assess: have you wronged someone, or do you have a wrong that needs to be addressed? Go directly to the person with whom you have conflict and discuss the situation in person and alone. Ask for forgiveness. (Matthew 18:15; Matthew 5:23-24).

  • If conflict is not resolved after the first meeting, email admin@teachinghomes.com and set up a time for mediation meeting/call with the parties involved. It is helpful if the mediator, agreed upon by both parties, is familiar with the situation, but is objective and unbiased. (Matthew 18:16)
